Maestro Slatkin, Music Director of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, will host, narrate, and conduct this extraordinary concert that documents his family's musical history in Southern California with chamber music from Hollywood's Golden Age including:
Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein, John Williams, Miklos Rozsa, Erich Korngold, Nino Rota, and Ennio Morricone
Also included will be reconstructed songs and accompaniments from Frank Sinatra's pathbreaking album Close to You(1956) that featured Slatkin's parents, Felix Slatkin (violin) and Eleanor Aller (cello) and the famed Hollywood String Quartet. Tom Heitman, a master of the Sinatra Song Book, is the vocalist. Featuring a concert exchange with The Chamber Music Society of St. Louis and Dempster St. Pro Musica
